ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS.

October 8, 2026

PER CURIAM.

The Florida Bar's Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration Committee filed a report proposing amendments to Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.270 (Supreme Court Committees on Standard Jury Instructions) and to the Judicial Branch Records Retention Schedule for Administrative Records.¹ Both the Committee and the Court published the proposals for comment; no comments were received.

We adopt the amendments as proposed. First, rule 2.270 is amended to provide that all proposed changes to the standard jury

instructions, which must be published for comment on The Florida Bar's website, may, rather than must, be published in the print edition of The Florida Bar News, with the same deadline for comment submission as the website publication.

The “Search Warrants” section of the retention schedule is amended to avoid any ambiguity regarding unexecuted search warrants. And the retention period is revised to one year after the date of "issuance of the search warrant."

Accordingly, we amend the Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration and the Judicial Branch Records Retention Schedule for Administrative Records as reflected in the appendix to this opinion. New language is underscored; deleted language is stricken. The amendments shall become effective on January 1, 2027, at 12:01 a.m.

It is so ordered.

THE FILING OF A MOTION FOR REHEARING SHALL NOT ALTER

THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THESE AMENDMENTS.
